To disable Firefox’s new pdf reader, type about:config in the browser URL. On that screen, look for the config option called plugin.disable_full_page_plugin_for_types pref and remove the application/pdf part if present.
Once you’ve done this, you’ll likely need to re-install the Adobe PDF Reader for Firefox found here.
