Because the Court clerk has to remove the existing attorney, and then add a new attorney manually when filing a Substitution of Counsel, we suggest filing Appearance of Counsel with the court to be added as an Attorney of Record on a case.
The document type Appearance of Counsel/Notice of Limited Appearance automatically adds the new attorney to the case without having to wait for a clerk to manually change them. You will still file your Substitution of Counsel with the court in order for them to remove the existing Attorney.
