FOR CIVIL CASES

When filing a new case, the court requires a complaint amount with the filing. Enter the complaint amount in that field that matches the one entered on the cover sheet. The complaint amount necessary for the Court to determine which filing fee to assess; $75, $185, or $360.

When filers do not have a set amount for the new complaint, check the box “the claim amount is unspecified“. Doing so results in the Court assessing the maximum filing fee of $360. If a filer is not seeking monetary damages, enter a claim amount of $0. Doing so results in the Court assessing the lowest filing fee of $75.  

FOR DOMESTIC CASES

When filing a new domestic case, the complaint amount field will display as well. There are rare instances when the filing party may want to request a specific amount. In most instances, however, simply click the check box indicating the “claim amount is unspecified“.

The filing fee for new domestic case is $310 plus the fee for the vital stats form ($8) for a total of $318.
